The International Museum of Naive Art (MIDAN) is home to a multitude of astonishing works from around the world. You will be able to discover the fascinating collection of Max Fourny, founder of the museum, made up of nearly 900 works acquired during the collector's travels. The museum also houses the Françoise Javault collection from the Musée d'Art Naïf de Bages, closed since 2002.

The Museum was inaugurated in 1973 in the country house of Max Fourny and his wife. It is an old farmhouse from the 18th century. The site was enlarged in order to house a collection which would develop and be structured over time. Max Fourny traveled the world to discover naive painters and sculptors. A true art enthusiast. The commune of Vicq became the owner of the buildings and collections following the donation made by the collector and his wife.

During your visit, you will be able to see an incredible diversity of techniques used and media used: oil, gouache, watercolor, pencil, pastel, collage, sculpture, canvas, wood, paper, glass, fabric... The museum seeks to highlight value and develop its current funds. To this end, it produces temporary exhibitions for individual visitors and groups on a national and international scale. The objective is to introduce the richness of this collection to as many people as possible. Cultural and educational activities are also put in place to accompany the exhibitions.
