Presentation

With its immense park, its gardens and its wax figures who live in the castle: Breteuil is an ideal outing for the family.

In the heart of the Chevreuse Valley, stands the Château de Breteuil. The Breteuil family, one of the most famous in France, has owned this immense property for several generations. The current building has a harmonious 17th century facade in white stone and pink bricks. But, if you look carefully, you will be able to see some remains of the original castle, such as the dovecote.

Young and old will enjoy visiting the residence animated by wax figures made by the Grévin museum. Parents observe the outfits and habits of the time, while their children marvel at the reproductions of Red Riding Hood, Little Thumb and other heroes of Perrault's tales, which populate the castle and the outbuildings.

Outside, magnificent gardens and a gigantic 75-hectare park await visitors. After feeding the deer and ducks, lose yourself inside the large boxwood labyrinth... A real place of daydreaming, for the whole family.

NEW for 2017: Since April, a new scene from a Perrault tale has joined Cinderella, Donkey Skin and Bluebeard. It is the less famous story of the Fairies presenting two sisters, one of whom has all the faults and the second all the qualities who are faced with a choice to which each will respond according to their personality. The characters in this tale move in front of settings inspired by the sets of the Trianon theater in Versailles, on screens like paintings coming to life before your eyes. A good opportunity to (re)discover this storybook castle.
